INTRODUCTION
Barnardos, Republic of Ireland CLG (Barnardos) is a children's
charity. We work with vulnerable children and their families in
Ireland and campaign for the rights of all children. We provide
practical and professional supports for children, young people, and
families in **Apply on the website** locations around the country.
Barnardos invites responses and offer submissions to a Request for
market information for a new Child and Family Information System.

BACKGROUND AND PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Barnardos underwent a significant change management process from
**Apply on the website** to transition from paper case files, leading
to the introduction of electronic record keeping in July **Apply on
the website** with a full roll-out and replacement of paper files in

We are now looking to build on our success with electronic record
keeping and to upgrade our systems to a new platform in **Apply on the
website**. This upgrade will address the further functional needs that
have emerged as this change process has progressed and also address an
evolving operational environment
The primary purpose of our electronic record keeping and case
management system remains as it was. That is to provide an accurate,
secure, contemporaneous, accessible and accountable record/history of
work with children and families.
The goal of this project is to implement a new improved system which
will further support and enhance direct work with children, young
people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes, and which
supports other indirect work for the benefit of children and young
people, such as research, awareness-raising, and policy work.
Case oversight, decision support, analytics, and reporting, are
therefore also key functional requirement areas in addition to the
recording capabilities of the system.
A further key priority for Barnardos is to ensure that the upgrade to
a new platform has no impact on Barnardos service users, i.e. the
children and families who benefit from our services, and minimal
impact or disruption on our frontline staff who are the key users of
the system. They must be able to carry out their duties without
interruption.
Barnardos now wishes to evaluate potential solutions in detail, and
quickly select a solution that is deployable in a timely fashion, and
that will bridge from our current system to the new system as
seamlessly as possible for the end users. This new system must be
intuitive and usable so that the users can easily make the transition
without the need for extensive retraining or support.
